Ready out of the fish tank's leaking. Okay, foreign. all right. they should be here any minute. I don't see them yet. Oh that's gotta be them. So let me just explain what this whole thing was supposed to be. It's like two months ago I did this thing with Joby the company that makes the microphone that I use where they would pick where Joby would pick five creators from like I don't know around the world, a handful of different countries and they'd fly them here. and like the grand prize that these five creators get to make a video with me I Got a lot of fans in here. Oh you guys gotta put no scrap down back. these guys all won a contest to fly to New York and like make a video with me. Now that sort of makes sense. but as like the date neared and I really thought about it I wasn't quite sure what to do. then these creators showed up and they were awesome! Let's take these guys to one of my favorite restaurants in all of New York City Get the ginger chicken or the roast pork. excuse me But then we started talking. I Thought: Rather than like taking our precious one day together all the time we had one day. rather than taking that time to focus on my video, instead, let me give each of these creators as much of my time as possible to work on their video for their YouTube channel and that that's what we did. Are you feeling ready to start your project? Um I think I've done this. Absolutely we'll see. Kind of nervous. kind of good. We're good locked in. Oh yeah I Appreciate the confidence. So what what video are you making while you're here? I'm making a vlog about my experiences. George I brought you a special gift and that's your video. Yeah yeah, the gift is the video. So I'm filming three different things but the main one that's going to be on YouTube is the Journey of getting to ride a boosted board with you because it's a dream since I've had since I was 30. So we're going to figure that out at some point. but you know it's like a toy store. It's like an amusement park. It's like Disneyland if you're a film. Oh my gosh hi, how does it feel I think I feel okay, that's uh, that's Haruki Haruki and I Well Haruki had a great idea. He said he had a fear of heights. He wanted me to help him overcome that fear of heights. We've got an hour. why don't we just climb out of the window of my office and we'll go up to the roof fear of heights that we overcame by climbing to the roof of this building. That was a good little shoot. Yeah! So when I when I first moved to New York City like as a young Casey I had no money whatsoever and I would come to this store just to look at and fantasize about all the equipment in here and what I could do with that equipment. and like the whole someday I'll be able to get that camera thing here 20 years ago 19 year old Casey that's what. Foreign. So to go from being that kid who used to come in here just to Window Shop just to peruse what's that? That's good. That's me right? Anyway, that's where I was going with this whole story. Now they put me on the wall in here. Look at that guy. George how do I characterize your YouTube channel aquariums fish I'd say series meets animals? Maybe? no no way. This is crazy I've had an idea for this style of a video before, but I this I'm so out of my comfort zone. Him and his team made that fish tank and his video is about like gifting me that fish tank. Great concept George Great fish tank now I thought I fixed that leak but I didn't and I do have fish now. Uh, the fish have to stay separate so don't kill each other. So I built a tank within a tank out of a glass water bottle. Their names are Edward and Edward they're great fish over the camera. We're going to do something nice. She wanted to make uh, like an instructional video as to how to do a be real since I'm not on be real she taught me how to do it. first. there it is this: This is what this whole campaign was for: Joby's their new microphone. I Have to say it's been the only microphone I've used for I don't know my last 20 videos and the thing is Stellar it's Stellar it's a perfect YouTuber microphone. Some features they really want me to highlight: It has noise canceling so if it's like chaos behind you, it'll bring that down. It records two audio tracks, one audio track that's 10 decibels lower in case you have like, a lot of peaking. It'll give you a nice clean track along with that and then this is clutch. It's got a little LED on the front of the microphone to tell you if the battery is dead or if it's on or if it's off. It's as if the gods over at Joby were listening when I made all those videos complaining about microphones and they made one just for me. Just what I wanted? What's up? Yeah, that was fun. The whole experience was something special for me and I Know It was supposed to be about them and not about me. but like this whole YouTube thing that I do. it's just it's just I'm alone I work alone. This is a very lonely this is a very like and doing this project forced me to like break out of that shell and I think why I loved it so much as well. We spent like a day. It was like a day and a half together. We spent this time together. we were talking about making videos the whole time. we're talking about making the whole time but never once in those two days day and after we talk about like how do you get more likes How do you get more subscribers? How do I grow my follower account How do I be like a more How do I make more money as an influencer We didn't talk about any of that because I hate that stuff. but that's not what this was, this was just about. it was just about that act of making.
