Foreign. It's been raining for about seven straight days in New York City and the flooding is, uh, kind of severe in some places. Can you tell that I'm on my knees? Oh man, thank you. I'm obviously no expert here, but my understanding is they removed the manhole covers these things here when water gets down there which turns into steam and then pressurizes which could make these covers like explode so they remove them while they're doing repairs or whatever they're doing down there.

But there's a lot of this happening in this part of the city. Hello people! Certain aspects of the city deal with flooding better than others. The subway, which is, uh, effectively, a trained Network that is underground. the subway is particularly vulnerable.

All right. I am issuing a state of an emergency for New York City based on the weather conditions and I want to say to all, New Yorkers uh, this is time for heightened alertness and Extreme Caution we're now in. uh, where are we? We're in Park Slope Brooklyn Where apparently this whole street was underwater like a few hours ago. the water was like this.

High I had a bail I had my two-year-old with me. it was absolutely nuts man. so how high was the water? I was definitely up to my definitely over my car. So when we got out, man, what we had to do I tied my son got out of the back seats, climb in the front seat.

we climbed out the side and I carried them. This is where I mean it came in all through the back seat. It was nuts. Man, it was about up the year.

Get out of here. Yeah, it was crazy. Nobody got hurt though. No, nobody got hurt.

The water lifted it up. It was parked perfectly straight. The water lifted it up, it just pushed itself and what are you? You're picking them all up and taking them out of here? This ever happened before. Apparently the entirety of the FDR which is like a freeway that goes around the entire island of Manhattan. Apparently the whole FDR's closed down. so we're gonna be trying to go down there and check it out.

sorry officer, not. get on the highway. Foreign. So we're directly under the Williamsburg Bridge and it used to be like pretty bad down here, but they've cleared up most of it.

The FDR was shut down in both directions. Now it's just shut down. Southbound These guys are. These guys are just getting it done.

Six, Uh, 6 45 P.m Six, Ah, 6 45 PM Which means the official flash flood warning from the National Weather Service Just uh, just ended. and I I'd add that while those clips on media were pretty crazy and what I saw on the news, it really made it feel like the whole island of Manhattan in New York City at large was underwater. And those of us who experience Hurricane Sandy in 2012 today wasn't that like in 2012. half the island lost power for like a week and so much of this city was underwater.

those isolated incidents today, and moreover, it really felt like the city did a good job addressing it. Nice job. New York.
