Don’t tell em about how hard it is to get from the finish back to your hotel or apartment it’s the worst part

I’ll tell you guys if you haven’t done the race you know the walk home is literally the hardest part of the marathon because it takes you forever and there’s no cabs available you have to walk to the subway and get back to wherever you live or where your hotel is anyone doing this race is to get a hotel room as close to the finish as possible you will thank yourself later
Not everybody gets to be in the VIP tent where it’s warm and cozy I had a chance wants to get in the VIP tent I knew someone who knew someone and I got into the marathon for free and was going to get into the VIP tent but the friendship did not last so I did not get into the VIP tent I still had a great race in 2009 it was a 40th anniversary of the marathon and I had my best time in about 8 yrs bc I have been downsides out of a job so all I did all summer long is training plus weight training & swimming. It was great🗽🥰
I’ve only taken the ferry once in 2014 I prefer the buses the buses are warm and cozy and there’s a bathroom in there I just don’t like being on the water especially if it’s chilly but it’s exciting either way
I’ve done the marathon 10 times I didn’t do 2015 I did do 2014 and I haven’t done it since but I’m doing it next year and I know Casey moved back to the city and did it this year and is doing it next year I’m moving back to the city too and I’m so psyched for all of it I won’t see Casey because he’s so much faster than me but it’s cool to know that he’ll be out there running the marathon again🗽🥰
