Thanks Casey. You answered my question. I was looking for a compact do it all camera to take to mountain hikes and save some weight there. But i did not like the fact that this good a camera also shows a blown up sky. Helped me decide I am good with my dslr and zoon lens for the purpose. Will not save weight but will continue to get good photos and videos
The Mk VII resolved the mic input problem – I’ve owned a Mk VII for about 18 months and didn’t pay full price so made the decision to purchase easy. Apart from being easy to carry so it goes more places and most people don’t take much notice when your using it, perfect for street or crowded area photography

I really wanted this camera until you said the Way out of my range price, so I bought the Sony ZV-1F for $499. This is my third and favorite 1 inch sensor pocketable camera. one is the Canon G9X II the other a Lumix ZS100 both amazing but this Sony (ZV1F) is my favorite due to the fact if while in my pocket or a pouch and I accidentally turn it on the camera does Not try to open up the lens possibly damaging it. They all take better than great pictures/video and all are tiny, the difference is in the zooms. I now Always have this ZV1F with me all the time ready for action. People should really study what reasons Jpeg may be superior in your for fun life situations. Most people Bitching about what this camera doesnt have probably have like me an array of more professional gear as do I like my Canon dslr a Fuji APSC a MFT Panasonic and 2 Olympus cameras along with an awesome for photographs Pentax dslr. of course everyone has their phones with them but if you are in the wilderness or city and drop/break your phone like I did 2 months ago while texting, I was stuck for an entire weekend with no phone whatsoever. I enjoy all of my cameras much more than taking pictures or video on the phone. I actually just took some stunning waterfall pictures on the ZV1F in shutter priority mode and then some kick ass slo-mo of the dogs and chickens and it was a breeze. Today I took a small freezer bag and cut a small hole to allow the lens to shoot in a rain shower after wrapping the bag around the lens housing with a rubber band making it like a lens hood keeping the lower part pointing toward the ground channeling the water away from the camera, you'd just have to see it to understand. All in all this and all my tiny 1 inch cameras are a joy to shoot with incredible pictures and video. The ZV1F however is the most convinient of all. You still ROCK and thanks for All of your videos as I am now going to Binge Watch you all weekend long…
