it's a pretty great thing for $400
this is NOT a sponsored video**

Amazing hello from sunny at Southern California and welcome back to another tech, Tuesday technology review this week, we'll be looking at the latest from DJI the Mavic mini. First, let's have a look at: what's in the box instruction manual, three batteries, USB charging thing and the drone itself with controller charge. I think charging cables an important detail here is: this review is of the Mavic mini Wymore combo, the five more combo is comes with the extra batteries and like the propeller guards in this cool case extra propellers, but it's a hundred bucks more. I don't know if you need all that stuff, maybe the batteries are worth it.

I mean, I appreciate the gesture DJI, but does anybody use propeller guards it's 2019, but this is. This. Is the money right here? This is all you need this. This is the drone.

The controller this thing feel how light that is crazy right. All right am i drawing back now. It's really wild. How tiny this thing is? This isn't the first small drone, but this thing is like it feels it's.

It's very small, ready, iPhone Mavic mini it very small, it's very small. It's tiny! It's really super small Justin, I'm making a video about the new drone and I'm trying to like explain why 249 grams is a big deal? Okay, so what does it mean? As far as the FAA goes as long as you're, not commercial, what you can't do with so, while there are laws that define how and where you can and cannot, fly drones and how you should fly them and all that where it gets really grey, is when The drones wonder 250 grams, and that's why DJI made this one exactly 249 grams. This was not an accident, they wrote it on the box, they even have it written on every single drone right there, 249 grams, and while this doesn't give you permission to be reckless with your drone, it does give you certain freedoms in it absolves you have certain Responsibilities that you would have with a drone, that's any bigger! That's one gram bigger than this! Now for the flight test portion of this review, I'm going to be comparing I'm gon na, be comparing the Mavic meanie to my favourite drone currently on the market dollar for dollar. What I feel is the absolute best drone you can buy, which is the Mavic pro 2.

You can use this for professional use and it does the trick. This thing is absolutely amazing. I also use it with the pro controller this. This is the best, but this combination, this controller in this drone, come in at a whopping two thousand one hundred and ninety dollars, or something like that and I'm gon na be comparing its quality and capabilities to this, which is three hundred and ninety nine dollars.

And eighteen hundred dollar price difference: let's see how it does okay, but you guys ever seen a broom. This fall! That's right, sighs, poor man, so small this Wilson give it back give it back. I mean there is a definite difference between the video quality of the. Like $ 2,200 drone versus the $ 400 mini drone, but if you're using these things for like YouTube or you're, using them for family videos or anything like that, I don't think you need that pro quality, the video on it isn't just good enough.
It's it's! I think it's very good and when you combine that very good with that insane price point, I mean it seems like a big winner. The only question I have is: how does this drone not cannibalize, all the other, more expensive drones, that DJI sells and maybe a bigger question? How is any other drone manufacturer? How is any other drone manufacturer supposed to compete with DJI when they can make something that small that easy to fly with that kind of quality for 399 bucks almost really did almost fall off my my bike there, you, my Oh, when I see you.

Truthfully, I prefer the mini because the colors are more vibrant and most people only watch at 1080p so for me, Mini is the way to go.

If you uploaded video to youtube , you must have commercial license drone and permit. It's best, you should throw all your drones and shouldn't buy drone..
"If you have any intention at all of monetizing your YouTube videos, then you absolutely must get a Part 107 drone license. This is hardly even a gray area. By running ads on your videos earning money through subscriptions or memberships, your videos will definitely fall within the umbrella of commercial use.

The only option for you to not get a drone license is if you have no plans of monetizing your YouTube videos, now or in the future. The difficulty of this decision is that you never know how popular your video can get once you upload it. If you suddenly get a hundred thousand views on that drone video, the allure of monetizing may make you conveniently forget that you did not have a drone license when the video was shot.

Take note that the FAA certification does not apply retroactively. If you get certified tomorrow, you cannot claim that the aerial videos you shot last month were shot under Part 107 rules. For this reason, it’s best to get a drone license before you even start uploading your drone videos online.

Him: throws down the contents of the box
Me: slowly and carefully puts contents of the box on the table

I’m buying this bc it’s good quality for a budget price I don’t really feel like the police are too worried abt me flying a drone to take pictures of the ocean 😂

Seems to be the best in the $300 price range (now costs $300 not $400) other drones in that price range are the HS720e, Ruko F11, and Yuneec Mantis Q I think DJI Mini wins overall

Mini is over exposed but for 400 can really be great tool for someone who is starting out.

Biggest difference I’m noticing is more wind stability in the Pro footage vs mini. But not a massive difference at all considering the price.

Hi Casey, would love to know more about your studio lighting setup and what you use. If you care to share. Hoping to source some smaller lights to aid in ‘pieces to camera’ shots; looking to enhance the look of my upcoming videos. I don’t want to go down the full expense big lighting route at the moment. Hoping I can do a decent job with some smaller portable solutions. Appreciate any input. If you have existing videos on this sort of thing I’d be keen to view as well. Thanks in advance! 🤪👊

Does it have to be an iPhone to use the dji controller or you can use a Samsung?

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Randy H says:

I can see why you need a neutral density filter other than that it's a full-fledged drone for the price of a GoPro!

I think the mavic mini was a little over exposed but for the rest they are identical I have the mini and I think it’s great
